We’re cooking up some really cool things here at Si, so I thought I would share some info on the next two releases under development. Lets start with our next major release:

Sorted was one of the first apps to hit the iPad–in fact, it was one of the original apps to launch with the grand opening of the iPad App Store in April 2010. Back then, we didn’t even have an iPad, so Sorted was designed and developed on a simulator without ever seeing a working iPad. Needless to say, we’ve learned a lot since then.

Our little task manager has been selling surprisingly well considering it’s been neglected for almost 8 months. Not to mentioned we made some epic mistakes with the last release. Sorted 2 was kind of like a Windows Vista update. It had a plethora of major features, but mostly sucked and made you really angry at us.

And we agree with you–Sorted 2 did mostly suck compared to the first release. We’ve evaluated the problems with Sorted 2, and decided that the problems are too fundamental to simply patch. So we started the project by literally throwing our UI & code base out the window, and started again. Thats right, this next update will be a completely new app.

We’ve already moved into development phase and its shaping up to be a really nice app. Sorted 3 will include a number of heavily requested features, but the major feature is by far the most requested. So today I’m pleased to announce that Sorted 3, will ship with (drum roll) task Sync, across all your iOS devices!

You guys have been asking for it for over a year and now thanks to the new API’s shipping with iOS 5 & the power of iCloud, Sorted 3 will seamlessly sync all your tasks across your iPad, iPhone or iPod without even thinking about it. No bluetooth, no messy proprietary systems, just seamless task management across all your devices.

Best of all, you guys will get the completely new Sorted 3 as free update. We hope this makes amends for Sorted 2.

Concurrently to Sorted 3, we’re also developing the next update to Procreate. We’re all very pleased with the success and attention Procreate 1.5 has been getting–but we’re not sitting around idle.

We’re really excited about the next Procreate update and we’re already quite deep into the design phase. It seems our internal Procreate feature list seems to grow every time we look at it! And some of the new features are very ambitious in scope. So ambitious, that we aim to split the releases into smaller chunks. Its likely we will ship one or two smaller Procreate 1.X releases containing a major feature, before the big 2.0 release. Otherwise you guys will be waiting a while!

In the next few weeks we hope to post up our working procreate feature list, so you can see exactly what we’re working on as we go. We are also continuing to monitor our support boards, watching and listening to what you want from the next update. So if you haven’t already, join the discussion and chime in. And remember to hit the +1 if you like an idea for the next version of Procreate!

I think thats all for now.

And as always, thanks for your constant feedback and purchases guys. It really makes our day to hear from you–because we wouldn’t be making all this cool stuff if it wasn’t for your support  :)
